Police Arrest Man In Horse-And-Buggy Hit-And-Run

A Camden man is charged with a hit and run accident in Williamstown involving a horse and buggy.

Police say that at about 7:00 p.m. Saturday night, Katie D. Herchberger, 25, of 362 County Route 30, Williamstown was driving a horse and buggy along County Route 30 when the buggy’s left wheel was hit by a vehicle. The buggy ran off the road and hit a tree. The car drove off.

Within minutes, police found the car. It was sitting at the intersection of County Route 30 and Route 13, unoccupied. Police then found James E. Bristol, 63, of 1603 Littlefield Road, Camden walking along Route 104.

He was ticketed for DWI and leaving the scene of an accident and was released to a third party. He is scheduled to appear in town of Williamstown Court on October 20.
