Police: Oswego Man Used Sword On Victim

Police say an Oswego man tried to solve a case of road rage with a samurai sword.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department gives this version of events:

William B. Russell, 19, of 348 County Route 29, Oswego and another man had some kind of dispute on the highway. The other man followed Russell back to his home. The man was still in his car when Russell was at his door with a samurai sword. He poked the man in the arm with the sword, causing a cut, and threatened to cut the entire arm off.

Russell’s been charged with menacing and weapons possession, both class A misdemeanors, and was sent to jail in lieu of bail of $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond. He’s scheduled to return to court July 17.
