Search For Missing Man Suspended Following Discovery Of A Body

UPDATE:  Police Tuesday morning have identified the body found as that of Joseph Stock.

OSWEGO, NY – The body of a white man reportedly found in a wooded area in Scriba has been taken to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s office for positive identification.

The ME will also determine the cause of death.

Authorities have been searching for Joseph T. Stock Sr.

Stock, 54, of County Route 1, Scriba has been missing since the evening hours on Saturday, according to a release from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the release, Stock may be despondent over personal issues.

He was last seen at his residence on County Route 1 iat approximately 4:45 p.m. Saturday wearing a red T-shirt and black pants.

He is described as being approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 240 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

With the discovery of the body, the search for Stock has been suspended.
