Staff Report

New York State’s Agriculture Commissioner visits Oswego County today.  Patrick Hooker will visit the John Dunsmoor farm in the town of Scriba.

The farm’s onion crop suffered hail damage in this past weekend’s storms.

The state notes that this is the second wave of storms to cause heavy damage to Central New York crops.  Hooker visited farms in Wayne and Genesee counties in mid-June after a hailstorm described as one of the state’s worst in years.

Hooker will tour the Dunsmoor onion farm with State Senator Darrel Aubertine.

The farm is at the corner of Rt. 481 and Dutch Ridge Rd. in Scriba. missing or outdated ad config
