State Police: Oswego County Man Causes Crash After Fleeing From Police

On Saturday at approximately 7:30 p.m., State Police were called to the area of County Route 57 near the Liverpool Bypass in the town of Clay to assist the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office with searching for a possible suicidal subject in a vehicle.

The vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Impala operated by Timothy J. Vuncannon, 34, from County Route 10 in Pennellville, was located by patrols northbound on Morgan Road traveling at a high rate of speed and without headlights.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle when Vuncannon refused to stop and continued north on Morgan Road where he allegedly failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of Buckley Road striking a 2014 Chrysler 200, driven by Hope L. LeBlanc, 53, from Clay.

Mrs. LeBlanc was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse for non-life threatening injuries.

Vuncannon was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he was treated and released.

Vuncannon was charged with the following:

•Driving While Intoxicated, a class “A” misdemeanor
•Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor
•Reckless Driving
•Speeding
