Teen Foursome Facing Felony Burglary Charges

OSWEGO, NY – Sheriff’s deputies have charged four teens in connection with burglaries in Hastings over the weekend.

On Oct. 5, Christopher R. Schroeder, 18, of 444 Woodworth Road, Central Square; Corey A. Durham, 18, of 269 US Route 11, Lot 29, Central Square; Jacob D. LeBeau, 18, of 141 North St., Cleveland; and Jeremiah M. Ransom, 18, of 3 Beach Road, Cleveland, were each arrested for third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief (both class D felonies) and fifth-degree conspiracy (a class A misdemeanor).

The arrests stem from the investigation into an incident that occurred in the town of Hastings on that same day.

They reportedly unlawfully entered a construction business by crashing a vehicle into a door to gain entry, causing damage to the building, then allegedly stole items from within.

During another illegal entry to a diner on the same evening, where a window was smashed out to gain entry and damage was caused to the building and a cash register, Mr. LeBeau was further charged with third-degree burglary (a class D felony), fourth-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree conspiracy (both class A misdemeanors).

Mr. Durham, Mr. Ransom and Mr. Schroeder were each additionally charged with third-degree burglary (a class D felony) and fifth-degree conspiracy (a class A misdemeanor), for their alleged participation in the incident.

The men were each arraigned before the Hon. Michael Clark, Town of Hastings Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility; Mr. Schroeder and Mr. Durham in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond.

Mr. Ransom and Mr. LeBeau were remanded in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond.

They are all scheduled to return to court on Oct. 9.
