MEXICO, NY – A crash this evening (Nov. 10) involving a gasoline tanker and a pickup truck has claimed the lives of two people.
The accident happened on State Route 3 near Munger Hill Road in the Town of Mexico just before 6 p.m.
Two passengers in the pickup were killed, deputies said.
They have been identified as Edward Boyzuck and Edith Knight, deputies said.
Both were from Oswego.
The driver of the tanker truck, Troy Lund, of Camillus, reportedly suffered minor injuries.
No gas was leaked, according to police.
Route 3, near Munger Hill Road, was shut down for several hours as the cause of the crash is under investigation. It reopened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
The accident remains under investigation.
