Two Oswego Health Employees Earn Certification From NAHAM

OSWEGO, NY – Two Oswego Health employees have recently earned certifications from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management.

Sara Weldin, patient financial/access director, has earned certification as a healthcare access manager.

To earn the certification, Weldin had to pass a 100-question exam on management concepts, patient access departmental operations, basic healthcare accounting and various government issues, as well as other related topics.

Julie Struallo, patient access representative, earned certification as a healthcare access associate.

She also took a 100-question exam on topics that included hospital admissions and registration, billing, insurance and financial information, patient rights, customer service and laws and regulations that affect patient access.

By seeking the certifications, Weldin and Struallo have gained an expanded knowledge of every aspect of patient access management.
