OSWEGO – The Oswego YMCA was evacuated on Saturday afternoon stemming from structural concerns, according to the Oswego Fire Department.
The building and surrounding area remains closed today (Jan. 25).
An Oswego Fire Department engine company returning from an emergency call noticed the north wall of the structure looked suspect.
Oswego Fire officials looked closely at the wall, noting portions of brick and mortar had fallen.
Oswego Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie said, “At this point, we need to wait for a structural engineer to take a look at the building to ensure it is safe.”
