RICHLAND, NY – Yesterday, June 3, at around 12:47 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 2020 GMC Yukon on Interstate 81 southbound in the Town of Richland.
Through investigation, during the traffic stop, it was determined that the driver and passenger in the vehicle were in possession of approximately 224 lbs of marijuana. All marijuana and $2,000 cash were seized as evidence.
The driver of the vehicle, Amber Johnson, 37, of Lafayette, New York, was ticketed for Speeding, Following Too Closely and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree, and charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the first degree.
The passenger of the vehicle, Keri Bucktooth, 39, of Nedrow, New York, was charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the first degree.
Both Bucktooth and Johnson were arraigned in Oswego County CAP Court and Released on their Own Recognizance.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by Border Patrol and the Oswego County Drug Task Force.
This incident is still under investigation.
