PHOENIX, NY – For the ninth consecutive year, John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix played host to the county-wide Olympiad Invitational event.

This event took place on May 16 and welcomed 403 athletes and their families, support staff, and spectators alike. Athletes took part in friendly competitions which included track races, softball throw, shot put, standing and running broad jump, infield games and hand cycles. They had the opportunity to get their face painted, met the school mascots, and interacted with the many attendees.

This was a team effort, with many Phoenix student and staff groups playing an important part. The anthem was sung by Phoenix alumni Brook Jones and Nick Trask. The National Honor Society members ran all the activities. The Phoenix Sports Boosters provided over 350 lunches to the athletes along with ice cream.
