OSWEGO – The City of Oswego is informing residents of a temporary waterflow/pressure condition which may affect water service on New York State Route #104 East, between George Street and Jim Shampine Drive beginning on Saturday, March 7, 2026, and concluding on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
On March 7 at approximately 10:30 PM until approximately 7:00 AM on March 8, a city water main affecting the noted area will be shut down to allow for necessary repairs. Every effort will be made to minimize the duration of the condition.
Additionally, ALL vehicular traffic will be diverted around the work site in order to provide a safe work zone for repair personnel.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Occasionally, once service is restored, your water may show discoloration. If your water shows discoloration, flush the cold-water system by running outdoor spigots, tubs and faucets without aerators (screens) until the water runs clear. It is best to use fixtures located in the lowest level of the building. Do not run the hot water until the cold runs clear.
We appreciate your cooperation and your patience.
