Oswego County Asks for Public Input About Sanitation Systems

Take the Survey by July 31 –

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning Department invites residents to complete a sanitation survey to identify potential sewer needs across southern Oswego County.

Responses will help the County better understand the condition of private wastewater systems, identify potential problems, and assess their proximity to environmentally sensitive areas like wetlands and bodies of water. The results will help contribute to future planning for public sanitation sewer systems.

Surveys must be submitted by Thursday, July 31. Residents can complete the survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OswegoCountySewer. They need to submit their name, address and parcel tax ID for the survey which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Residents living in areas where private wastewater systems, such as septic tanks and lech fields, are commonly used were sent a mailer regarding the survey. The card lists the property owner’s parcel tax ID for easy reference, along with a QR code that directs residents to the online survey.
