What is Your Vision for the Future of Schroeppel?

Survey Now Open! –

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Town of Schroeppel is looking forward to a bright future with input from residents and neighbors. Officials opened an online survey for people to voice their ideas and concerns about the re-development of brownfield areas and other vacant properties.

“Our town leaders have worked hard over the years to develop our community while maintaining the high quality of life we treasure,” said Oswego County Legislator Mary Ellen Chesbro, District 10, representing part of the Town of Schroeppel, and chairwoman of the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “They are now looking to make use of brownfield areas and other vacant or abandoned properties. I strongly urge my neighbors and residents to take this quick survey and let them know your thoughts about the use of these areas.”

By participating in the survey residents will help guide re-development plans and prioritize community projects in the town of Schroeppel.

Click on the Town of Schroeppel Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) online survey to answer questions about the future use of underutilized properties within the BOA. The survey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

Questions include sharing opinions on infrastructure, amenities, housing, recreational and job opportunities. It focuses on the BOA around Co. Rte. 57 and 57a, Huntley Road, William J. Farley, Jr. Community Park, the Town Municipal Building, Three Rivers Plaza and the waterfront area within the town.

With funding by the New York State Department of State, the Town of Schroeppel is introducing a Brownfield Area Plan, which will help lead to funding and technical assistance in the re-development of brownfields (properties with potential contamination such as former gas stations, dry cleaners or other industrial spaces) and other underutilized properties.
