FULTON – Following is a message from Fulton Fulton City Council Member Dan Farfaglia regarding National Grid work being done in the 1st Ward:
– For those of you who live in the neighborhood on and around Fulton’s Hannibal St, you have likely crossed paths with the crews from National Grid over the last few months. This project is being done in two stages: main reinforcement and service tie overs.
The main reinforcement part of the project is for upgrading the main from 6 inch to 12 inch plastic to allow for better gas flow and pressure. The main reinforcement work has been completed sooner than expected because the weather has been so mild.
This service tie overs portion of the project will begin in March, likely mid-month. All driveways and lawns affected by the work will be fixed.
Postcards will be sent to residents before the service tie over work begins. Appointments might be necessary, so National Grid staff will handle that when necessary.
The work that will be done for service tie overs might require the gas mechanics to enter the residents’ homes and may also need to drill into the concrete basement wall to attach the meter bar…all normal procedure for this type of work.
Sincerely,
Dan Farfaglia
Fulton City Council Member
1st Ward
