SYRACUSE, NY – Senator John W. Mannion today announced a $175,000 grant for the Town of Granby to purchase a new plow and dump truck.
The Town of Granby Highway Department has a fleet of five dump trucks with plows. The newest truck is eight years old and the oldest is nineteen years old, leading to significant maintenance and repair costs.
Senator John W. Mannion said, “Crews in Granby and across Oswego County always get the job done, clearing snow and ice and keeping the roads safe and passable all year long. But that work takes a toll on their equipment, driving up maintenance and repair costs that strain local budgets. I’m grateful for the strong partnership with Supervisor Snow to secure and deliver $175,000 to assist Granby with purchasing its first new plow and dump truck in over eight years.”
Supervisor John Snow said, “One of the major services residents receive from the town is ensuring that roads are safe in all seasons. Thanks to Senator Mannion, the Town of Granby can replace its 19-year-old truck allowing us to work more effectively and efficiently without worrying about costly breakdowns.”
