Small Fire Extinguished at Bristol Hill Landfill; Normal Operations Continue

OSWEGO COUNTY – A small fire reported at the Bristol Hill Landfill Friday morning, Oct. 16, was extinguished with minimal disruption to facility operations, according to an Oswego County news release.

The Oswego County Department of Solid Waste reported that staff discovered the fire after noticing smoke coming from an area that had been inactive for the past few months.

Landfill personnel and volunteers from local fire departments doused the flames, the county said.

The landfill and transfer station will continue to operate as normal while an investigation determines the source of the flames, according to the release.
