UPDATE: The investigation has revealed that the vehicle involved in the crash, a 2016 Subaru sedan, was previously involved in a pursuit in the City of Fulton and was not actively being pursued at the time of the crash.
After the pursuit was terminated, the vehicle was additionally reported as a reckless driver between the City of Fulton and the location of the crash.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Casey Vincent, 19, of Fulton, New York.
Speed appears to be a contributing factor and the accident is still under investigation.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were assisted on scene by Granby Town Volunteer Fire Department and Menter Ambulance.

GRANBY – Last night, May 27, at around 9:32 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office discovered a person laying in the road on State Route 48 in the Town of Granby and a vehicle on fire at Battle Island State Park, just east of the State Route 48 Roadway.
Sheriff’s Deputies were in the area looking for the vehicle involved in the crash as it was involved in a pursuit with the Fulton Police Department minutes before. That pursuit was terminated while still inside Fulton City limits.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the vehicle involved is a four-door sedan that was traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck multiple objects.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was determined to be the person found lying in the roadway and they were pronounced dead on scene.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office are in the preliminary stages of the investigation. More details to come as they are released.
