OSWEGO COUNTY – On December 10, 2025, at approximately 2:08 p.m., members of the New York State Police Troop D Community Stabilization Unit and Pulaski Interstate Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 81 in the town of Richland for multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Quonta Q. Albert, age 32, of Syracuse, New York.
During the investigation, State Police established probable cause to search the vehicle. A loaded handgun was located inside the vehicle, at which point Albert attempted to resist arrest and flee. Troopers were able to gain control of Albert and place him under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, Albert was charged with:
• Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 1st degree, a class A-1 felony
• Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony
• Criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony
• Criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony
• Resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor
• Obstructing governmental administration, a class A misdemeanor
• Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor
A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the following items:
• A loaded .45-caliber handgun
• Multiple knotted plastic bags containing cocaine, approximately 486.4 grams
• A plastic bag containing crack cocaine, approximately 364.2 grams
• One pressed and packaged kilogram of cocaine, approximately 2.2 pounds
• A digital scale and sandwich bags consistent with drug paraphernalia
In total, more than four pounds of cocaine were seized.
Albert was transported to the Oswego County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
