NEW YORK – Following is a statement from SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr. on President Biden’s State of the Union address:
“In his State of the Union address, President Biden rightly highlighted public higher education and, especially, our nation’s community colleges as engines of opportunity and upward mobility for students and communities. We are deeply proud that SUNY’s 30 community college campuses empower hundreds of thousands of students every year to take that first step towards a high-demand career or the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. SUNY stands behind the President’s vision for investing in public higher education, making college more accessible and attainable, and investing in workforce development.
“My thanks to President Biden for lifting up public higher education, and for our Governor and legislature for working with SUNY to ensure college is affordable, accessible, and successful for our students.”
