Statement from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office

OSWEGO – On June 12, 2025, Sheriff Don Hilton and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office received an Investigative Demand for Documents under Executive Law §75(4) from the New York State Attorney General’s Office. In response, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has initiated a thorough and comprehensive review of all documentation requested.

This process will require a significant commitment of time and resources to ensure full compliance with the request.

Sheriff Hilton wishes to assure the public that the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has continued the agency’s longstanding practice of cooperating with federal agencies on public safety matters.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the continued service and protection of the residents of Oswego County.
