Three Arrested For Armed Robbery In Palermo

PALERMO, N.Y. – On May 6, 2020, at 7:10 a.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to an Armed Robbery that occurred in the Town of Palermo.

The victim reported that he was held at gunpoint with a shotgun and his personal property and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro were stolen.

Following an extensive investigation into the incident, Keith Chetney (27), Zachary Bentley (22), and Robert O’Connor (25) were arrested and charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.

Chetney was arrested on May 6 in the Town of Palermo and arraigned in Oswego County CAP Court on the morning of May 7, where he was remanded to Oswego County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

O’Connor was arrested on May 7 in the City of Fulton and arraigned that evening in Oswego County CAP Court where he was remanded to Oswego County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

Bentley was arrested on May 7 in the Town of Volney and arraigned that evening in Oswego County CAP Court where he was remanded to Oswego County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

The vehicle was located and recovered in the Village of Baldwinsville hours after the robbery.

The shotgun was recovered in the evening hours of May 7.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were assisted in this investigation by the New York State Police, Baldwinsville Police Department, Fulton Police Department and the Oswego City Police Department.

This incident is still under investigation.
