UPDATE: Victim Identified In Saturday’s Fatal; Police Alcohol Was Involved

The following is an update on the motor vehicle accident that occurred on June 1 in the town of Williamstown:

The investigation revealed that the 2007 Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound and the 2007 Chrysler van was facing southbound.

The pickup truck crossed the center line and the collision occurred in the southbound lane, where the van was parked.

It appears that alcohol was a contributing factor for the driver of the pickup truck.

Further, the parties involved knew each other and were at the same gathering earlier in the day.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Paul Edwards, 47, of Williamstown.

Mr. Edwards was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the van has been identified as John Fielder, 30, of Williamstown.

Mr. Fielder was transported to Upstate Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
