West Monroe Man Charged In Shooting In Town Of Hastings

Yesterday, April 11, 2023, at around 4:25 a.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to of U.S. Route 11 just northeast of the Brewterton Bridge for a check the welfare complaint.  Several people in the area called 911 reporting either the sound of a car accident or a gun shot.

Investigation revealed that a 22-year-old male was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.  The victim of the shooting knew the shooter, who was identified as Nathaniel L. Perry, who is 18* years of age, and a resident of the Town of West Monroe.  The shooting occurred after an altercation amongst the victim, Perry, and other associates.

Perry was located last night and charged with Assault in the First degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm in the first degree, both Class B violent felonies.  Perry was held overnight and arraigned this morning where he was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
