Winter Storm Warning In Effect Tonight, Friday

UPDATE Friday evening: The winter storm warning has been lifted.

OSWEGO COUNTY – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Eastern Lake Ontario Region, including Oswego County, beginning tonight at 1 a.m. through 10 p.m. Friday, November 25.

Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches. (NWS previously expected 8 to 12 inches.) Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes Friday. Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel conditions.

NWS forecast (Oswego County Airport, Fulton): Updated Friday morning

Friday: Snow. High near 26. Blustery, with an east wind 13 to 22 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
Friday Night: Snow showers likely, mainly after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 15. North wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Saturday: Snow showers likely, mainly before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Southwest wind 11 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Southwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Sunday: Snow showers likely, mainly before noon. Areas of blowing snow before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Windy, with a southwest wind 17 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
