OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego’s Division of Extended Learning will host a three and a half hour workshop for people interested in preparing for New York state’s notary public test.
SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center offers the session several times each year; spring dates are April 29, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and June 16, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the center in the Oswego County Industrial Park adjacent to State Route 481 in Phoenix.
Al Piombino, an expert in the field and author of “How to Take & Pass the NYS Notary Examination,” will lead the workshop.
Concepts and procedures are presented in an engaging and clear manor; Piombino uses plain English and avoids legal jargon while teaching the workshop.
He provides examples throughout the training to best prepare attendees for the state exam.
“The workshops are full of real life stories and interactive discussions that bring key points to life,” said Tammy Anderson, SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center contract manager. “Al Piombino uses his wealth of experience, wonderful sense of humor and code of professional ethics to effectively prepare students for the state notary public exam.”
“Notary Public Handbook: A Guide for New York,” a reference guide/textbook by the instructor, is included in the $129 tuition fee.
