The evening event will also give those interested in participating in this fall’s Novelis 10Kan events an opportunity to review the race courses that will include a walk, run and the new bike race.

“This will be an opportunity to learn the course before the Novelis 10Kan event,” said Mike Perkins, of the Oswego YMCA, who is coordinating the halfway evening of activities.

The race events, which will be 5K in length, will start at 6 p.m.

In addition, free health information and food will be available during the evening.

Those who participate in the halfway community event are encouraged to bring 10 aluminum cans to be used to support Novelis and its Habitat For Humanity project in Oswego County.

Those who bring 10 cans will be eligible to win gift certificates from Murdock’s Bikes and Cortini Shoes.

Sponsoring the Halfway to the 10Kan event are Novelis, Oswego Health, the Oswego YMCA, Tobacco Free, the Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Coach Ron Nelson, SUNY Oswego and the Oswego City School District.
