Alice L. Krakowka, 93

OSWEGO, NY – Alice L. Krakowka, 93, formerly of Yates Avenue, Oswego, passed away peacefully March 8, 2010, at St. Luke’s Health Care Services after a long illness.

Alice was the daughter of Peter and Sophie Orel of Oswego, and had attended Oswego schools.

She was employed with McDonald’s Fashions for 25 years before retiring.

She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church and was a member of The Legion of Mary, The Altar Rosary Society, and St. Paul’s Prayer Line.

She touched many hearts, was always there to listen and always had a kind word for everyone that crossed her path.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends, children, and grandchildren.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Krakowka (Cathleen) of Chicago; three daughters, Theresa Carter (Richard) of Georgia, Anne (Ray) Porter of Oswego and Margaret Nichols of Rochester; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Theodore A. Krakowka, in 1985; her sisters, Victoria Jaskula and Patricia Fisher, of Oswego; and her brother, Albert Orel of Presque Isle, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Luke’s Health Care Services, 299 E. River Road, Oswego, NY, 13126 in memory of Alice Krakowka.
