Arlyn D. Cloonan, 82

Arlyn D. Cloonan, 82, a resident of 147 E. Utica St. Oswego, passed away July 4, 2008 at St. Luke’s Health Services.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Baker) Cloonan.

He was a WWII US Navy Veteran serving with the Armed Guard in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatre.

He was employed as a Truck Driver for Lake Shore Transportation in Oswego.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 268, the Teamsters Local 317 and the V.F.W. Post 5885.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne (Prior) Cloonan, two daughters, Marsha (Arnold) King of Oswego and Martha (Donald) Lewis of Syracuse; three sons, David (Karen) Cloonan, Donald (Lori) Cloonan and Daniel (Lorrie) Cloonan, all of Oswego; two brothers, Harold  “Ed” Cloonan of Oswego and Sam (Dawn) Hart of Minetto; a special friend Don Flack; fifteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister Carol Cloonan and his brothers, Jack, Leslie and Raymond Cloonan.

Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Monday at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, town of Oswego.

Funeral Services will be held 11a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
