FULTON, NY – Barbara A. Proppe, 86, formerly of 409 W. First St., Fulton,
died Saturday Aug. 16, 2008, at her daughter’s home after a long illness.
She was born in Fulton and she had been a resident of Fulton for most of
her life until recently moving to Altmar, NY.
Mrs. Proppe retired from General Foods as a supervisor.
She was a 55-year member of the PLAV, and she was a communicant of
Holy Family Church.
Mrs. Proppe was a member of the Holy Family Golden Agers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Proppe, in 1990.
She is survived by her children: Joseph (Anne) Proppe of Baldwinsville,
NY, and Pamela (Randy) Best of Altmar, NY; eight grandchildren: Sarah
and Carrie Proppe of Baldwinsville, Heather Rodriquez of Syracuse,
Jimmy, John, Krista, and MaryLynn McGivney all of Fulton, and Jennifer
Best-Guyer of Ashville, NC; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Sugar
Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, and 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family
Church, Fulton where Rev. Stephen Wirkes will celebrate a mass of
Christian Burial.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
Calling hours will be held 4 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home.
