Bette J. (Baum) (Saltalamachia) Douglas, 08/24/2009

SAFETY HARBOR, Fla.  – Bette J. (Baum) (Saltalamachia) Douglas of Safety Harbor, Fla., died on August 24, 2009.

She was employed for many years with Oswego County Opportunities, Inc and Motivated Security Services up until her relocation to Florida.

She was a resident of Oswego for many years and will be fondly remembered by friends that she made over the years.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children, her love of crafting, yard sales, and a great love for animals.

She is survived by her husband, James; her loving sons, Mark Saltalamachia and wife, Nadene, Michael Saltalamachia and wife, Xiomara, John Saltalamachia and wife, Mieko, and Joseph Saltalamachia; her loving daughter, Tina Orel; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Orel, Nicole and Danielle Saltalamachia and Michael Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Michael David and Abagail Rose Orel, and Vincent James Sharp.

She is also survived by her sisters, Arlene, Darlene and Nancy; and brothers, Stan, Albert, Robert, Donald, and John.

Bette was predeceased by her mother, Mabel Baum; father, Clarence Baum; her sisters, Helen and Margaret (Peg); and her daughter-in-law, Philicia.

A memorial service for Bette will be held on September 4 from 4 – 8 p.m. at her grandson’s house located at 186 E. Seventh St., Oswego, NY.
