Charles “Laurence” Farnham, 92, of Phoenix, NY, passed away at the home of his daughter, Janet Bednarczyk in Marcellus on Sunday December 20, 2009.

He was born in Norwich, NY to the late Lewis A. and Mildred (German) Farnham in 1917. A graduate of Phoenix High School, class of 1935.

A U.S. Army veteran, WW II, where he served in the European Theater; including the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Bronze Star Medal. A member of the American Legion # 113, Baldwinsville.

Laurence was a carpenter for Joyce & Birch Kitchens, Fulton, Pre-deceased by his son Lyle A. Farnham, on July 7, 1988, his brothers, Lynn Farnham during WW II, and R. Elton Farnham.

Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, the former Elizabeth I. Bowersox; his adult children Linetta A. (Thomas) Lindsay of Elbridge, (daughter) Lynn L. (Wallace) Burns of Landrum, SC, Russell C. Farnham of NYC, NY, Douglas L. Farnham of Albuquerque, NM, Janet M. (Lawrence) Bednarczyk of Marcellus, Brian L. (Sharon) Farnham of Waterbury, CT, Stuart A. (Linda) Farnham of Phoenix, NY, Elizabeth M. (Clyde) Walts of Oneida; brothers Ralph Farnham of Zephyrhills, FL, Donald Farnham of Riverside, IL, Seward Farnham of Springhill, FL, sisters Marian Candee of Forestport, NY, Rena Williamson of Merritt Island, FL; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 11 am Tuesday December 29, 2009 at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix. Burial at Chase Cemetery, 9450 State Rt. 48, Phoenix, with military honors. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Monday, at the funeral home 431 Main St..
