OSWEGO, NY – Dorothy E. Iles, 92, a former resident of Harbor House Condominiums, passed away Monday Nov. 23, 2009, at St. Luke Health Services.
Mrs. Iles was born in Catskill, NY, the daughter of the late James and Emma (Lamouree) Reilly.
She resided in Oswego for many years before moving to San Francisco, Calif.
She lived in San Francisco for 13 years and returned to Oswego in 1996.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
She was the wife of former Oswego Mayor, Robert G. Iles Sr., who died in 1983.
Mrs. Iles was active in the Legion of Mary and the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra I. Gilbert of Nevada City, Calif.; a son, Robert G. Iles Jr. of Oswego; two grandchildren, Deborah and Bramley Palm; and five great-grandchildren, Bradley, Allison, Audrey, Jeffrey, and Ryan.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a time to be announced.
A calling hour will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Dec. 1 at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St.
Following the visitation, graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse.
