SYRACUSE, NY – Ferol Lynn Allison O’Heir ,43, passed away peacefully December 30th at St. Joseph’s Hospital while surrounded by family and loved ones.
Ferol was born to Betty Jane (Clarke) Allison and Odis Allison Jr. In South Haven, Michigan. The family moved to Central New York shortly after Ferol was born, and she spent the rest of her life establishing a deep connection with family and friends in this area. After graduating from Oswego High School where she was a standout cheerleader, Ferol spent 25 years working for Hospitality Syracuse, rising to become Senior General Manager with the company. Throughout her career she was known as a trusted and valued teammate, who could always be counted on to leave a place better than she found it. Those of us blessed to know Ferol in her personal life know how true this is.
Ever present at the center of Ferol’s life was her wife, Marissa, and daughters Aria and Aylah. Ferol’s hard-working nature was well known to all, but her true passion was raising her young family and enjoying all their accomplishments.
Ferol had a powerful love of nature, often choosing to spend her time in enjoyment of the outdoors with her loved ones by her side. She also enjoyed traveling and adventurous activities. She had the most wonderful and indomitable spirit: if Ferol wanted something to get done, she would find a way to make it happen time and time again. She was resourceful, independent, kind, and above all else she loved her family fiercely. The devastation of her loss is tempered only by reflecting on how many lives she touched with her radiant spirit. In this manner our grief is a celebration of the extraordinary effect she had on us.
She is survived by the love of her life, Marissa O’Heir, and her two beloved daughters, Aria and Aylah. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Jane (Kip) Allison, her father, Odis (Carol) Allison Jr., her sister, Candice (John) Holbrook, and brothers Marcus (Gabby) Allison and Odis (Meghan) Allison III, along with several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
