Francis J. “Stoney†Stone, 80, a resident of Simpson Dr. Scriba, passed away March 17, 2010 at University Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Rose (Barry) Stone.
He was a US Marine Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952.
Stoney was employed as a Pipefitter for the Local # 273 for over 30 years retiring in 1987. He worked many years for J & K Boiler and other various construction jobs.
He was past president of the Local #273.
He enjoyed fishing and boating. His memberships were the Elk’s, American Legion and St. Mary’s Church.
Surviving are his wife, Frieda (Parkhust) Stone; two daughters, Sharon (P.J.) Dilts and their children, Jeff and Jessica; Barbara Teifke (Larry Bolia) and her children, Crystal, Sarah and Robbie; a son, Francis “Bud†Stone (Cheryl Keller) and his children, Ryan, Stephanie, Nicholas and Christopher; a great-grandson Hunter; and a daughter in law Jo-An Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Rose Bruno.
Funeral Services will be held 5p.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 2-5pm., prior to the service, at the funeral home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
