PHOENIX, NY – Anthony Christopher Gullotta, 96, of Phoenix, NY, passed away at Saint Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, New York on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born in Solvay, New York to his late parents, Antonina (Galusa) and Nicola Gullotta on October 12, 1927. Tony served in the U.S. Army from March 17, 1946 to September 12, 1947.

Anthony was a foreman for Hazard-Congel Construction Company, Syracuse, New York for several years. He was a member of the Italian American Athletic Club, Syracuse, NY; he was a boxer and trained young boxers; enjoyed cooking; loved his family, his grandkids especially. He walked everyday to the Burger King on the northside of Syracuse to stay healthy and to see friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Salvatore; his three sisters Mary, Anne, and Angie.

Surviving are his five daughters Maria A. (Kevin) Poppe, Carolanne (Charles) Porto, Deborah Moceri, Gilda (James) Ciotti, and Monica Gullotta and her husband John Siedlicki; four grandchildren, Nicole-Marie, Maria-Anne, Kayleigh, and Alexandra; 8 great-grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, Joseph, Matthew, Gianna, Charles, Julia, and Luna; neices, nephews, and friends. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse for their wonderful care and outreach staff.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday December 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Boyle at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church & Priory Chapel, 2656 Warners Road Warners, NY. 13164.

Burial will follow with the military honors in Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208 There are no calling hours.
