PHOENIX, NY – Anthony F. “Tony” Ferens, 56, of Volney (Fulton), NY, passed away at home with his family by his side on Sunday December 3, 2017.
He was born in Syracuse, NY, to his late parents, Norma (Dodd) and Joseph Vincent Ferens on March 31, 1961.
He was a graduate of Phoenix Central Schools, J. C. Birdlebough High School.
Tony was employed by Schindler Elevator Co., Syracuse, as an elevator constructor.
He was a member of Pathfinder Rod and Gun Club, an avid hunter and fisherman, a car show enthusiast and he enjoyed playing golf.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Diane Blank.
Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years, Mary Ann (Colvin) Ferens; his son, Trever Vincent Ferens of Volney; his brothers, David Ferens of Fulton, and Jim Ferens of Central Square; nieces and nephews; his canine and feline friends, Shelby, Dusty and Rusty.
Calling hours will be held on Friday Dec. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 9, in Saint Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Philip Brockmyre officiating the service.
Interment will follow in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St., Phoenix.
Following Tony’s burial, family and friends will gather at the Phoenix Fire Station, 457 Main St., Phoenix, with parking at the rear of the building.
