Donald R. Day

PHEONIX, NY – Donald R. Day, Sr. 77, of Granby, (Fulton) passed away at his home on
Friday October 11, 2024 with his family by his side.

He was born in
Binghamton, NY to his late parents, Muriel V. (Rhodes) Day Leiser and
Clayton H. Day on November 16, 1946. Don was a graduate of Binghamton
High School, and continued his education in business school. He was
the store manager at K B C store in Fulton, NY for many years. Later
he worked for the Walmart Corp. Don was a very active member of the
Little Utica Church as a Laity pastor and other positions. He was
involved with the Crossroads District as a Prayer Advocate of the
United Methodist Men; and very involved with the Corporal Kyle R.
Schneider Foundation. Don loved to take opportunities of traveling to
many destinations all over the world with his family and friends.

Besides his parents, Clayton died in 2008, Muriel died in 2013, his
daughter Fay Lynn Day-Coe died in 2023, and his sister Dorothy L.
Briggs died in 2022. Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years
Sylvia Grace (Bassett) Day; his daughter Esther Day and her husband
Todd Morey; his son Donald R. Day, Jr. and his wife Shannon; his
granddaughter Neko; his brother Richard and his wife Sachiko Day;
several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends. A calling hour
will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday October 20, 2024 in the Little
Utica United Methodist Church, 1459 Lamson Road, Phoenix, NY. Don’s
funeral service will begin promptly at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
The Rev. Jonathon Edwards and the Rev. Betty Morey will be officiating
