Jeanne M. Austic

RICHLAND, NY – Jeanne M. Austic, 92, of Richland Township Pulaski, New York, passed away at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney town, New York, on Wednesday November 9, 2022.

She was born in Syracuse, New York, to her late parents, Rosalie Lydia Marie (Elwell) and Verne Porter Murdoch on July 11, 1930. Jeanne was a Phoenix High School graduate.

Jeanne was employed by The Nestle Co., Fulton, New York, where she worked in Quality Control for over 30 years. She also served as Tax Collector for the town of Granby, New York. In later years, Jeanne was employed by the Sandy Pond Sportsman’s Club as the Bar Manager and Treasurer. She was very involved with every activity at the club. Jeanne was a volunteer at Kallet Theater in Pulaski. She enjoyed outside gardening and tending to her house plants; traveling; and loved holiday family gatherings.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Victor W. Austic on February 4, 1980; her daughter Patricia A. “Patti” (Austic) Seinoski on August 25, 2021; and her brother Richard Verne Murdoch on June 13, 2013.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Vaughn Powell of Eatonton, GA; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian V. and Theresa Austic of Volney; her eight grandchildren Joey, Michael, Erica, Brianna, Laurie, Lisa, Jennifer, and Christopher; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brother Charles E. Murdoch of Fulton; seven grand dogs; and her many friends she has had over the years.

Calling hours are on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135.

The graveside services will be on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Jacksonville Rural Cemetery, 9250 Fenner Road, town of Lysander, NY, with Pastor John Snow, Jr. officiating.
