Marty J. Race, 68

PHOENIX, NY – Marty J. Race, 68, of State Route 48, Granby (Fulton), NY, passed away at University Hospital, Syracuse, on Friday Nov. 10, 2017.

He was born to his mother, Helen (Weber), and his late father, Martin R. Race, on Feb. 9, 1949, in Syracuse.

He was U S Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1969-1971.

Marty was a self employed roofing and painting contractor.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Burton.

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Louise (Markham) Race; his children, Lance (Tina) Race, Sonya Jones (Toby Bushnoe), Heather Race, Cherri Race and Scott (Cathy) Race; his mother, Helen (Weber) Race; his siblings, Helen Mae Colby, Doreen Race and Donald (Sherry) Race; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Calling hours only will be on Wednesday, Nov.15, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the
Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY.
