Richard "Rit" Gerald Dix

PHOENIX, NY – Richard “Rit” Gerald Dix, 81, of Phoenix, New York, died peacefully on Wednesday April 10, 2024 after receiving comfort are at Van Duyne Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, in the town of Onondaga. Richard retired after 30 years with General Electric that included a short assignment in the state of Alaska, of which he was very proud. He also was proud to have served as a 7 year reservist for the United States Marine Corps., and achieved active duty for a short stint during that time.

Richard was a life-long bachelor who love the races at Oswego Speedway (Modified), and Fulton Speedway (Stock Car). He also loved to fish. He shared his swimming pool with all of his family and friends and would often be found talking with everyone, poolside. It brought him so much joy!

Richard is predeceased by his parents Norman W. Dix, Norma M. (Kinne) Dix; his brothers Marvin (Barbara), Robert (Sharon), Donald, William, and Charles. He is survived by his sisters-in law, Barbara J. (Wall) Dix, and Sharon E. (Manwarren) Dix; many loving nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; cousins; friends; and several care givers. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Graveside services only for Richard will be on Friday April 19, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in Chase Cemetery, 9450 State Route 48, Lysander town, (Phoenix address) NY 13135. The Rev. Bill Mudge will be officiating the service.
