Ronald R. ” Ron” Hutton, 78, of Phoenix, NY passed away December 13, 2023 in Syracuse, NY. He was Born Thompsontown, PA on May 31, 1945 to his late parents, Ethel Leona (Holes) and Clarence Dayton Hutton. Ron was a graduate of Harmony High School in Westover, PA. He later served as a Army reservist. As an Entrepreneur, he owned Empire State Container Company in East Syracuse, NY from 1979 until 1999.
An avid sportsman he loved fishing and hunting. Ron loved to spend as much time as he could outdoors. He was proud of bagging 15 Moose on hunting trips to Newfoundland, Canada. Ron was a master at repairing fishing reels.
He is survived by his loving spouse Ruth (Violando) Hutton; five children Teresa (Donald) Borden, Michelle Hutton, Marty (Kathy) Davis, Rhonda (Denny) Sheirer, Bradley (Shannon) Hutton; 12 grandchildren Dani Nodine, Tiger Jones, Judiee Petralia, Gabrielle Decker, Josh Stopher, Ashley Foley, William and Mariah Sheirer, Katie, Lily, Elle, and Allison Hutton; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; friends. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ethel (Holes) Hutton; nine siblings; Baby Charlotte.
Calling hours were on Monday December 18, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. service in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main Street, Phoenix, NY. Pastor J. Scott McElyea will officiate.
