OSWEGO – January 31, 2025, Charles E. Rosseter, Jr., 75, of Oswego passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Morningstar Care Center. He was born May 10, 1949 in Oswego to Charles E. Rosseter and Jessie Cloud Rosseter and attended Fitzhugh Park School. Charles held several positions which included being a longshoreman at the Oswego Harbor, Nestle’s and at Oswego Castings. Butler Disposal completed his work history from where he retired. Charles enjoyed betting on horse races at O.T.B., having an occasional Budweiser, a Lucky Strike and was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alvira McCann Rosseter; his children, Alvis E. Rosseter of St. Augustine, Florida, Bonnie M. Rosseter of Fulton, Bob Rosseter of Messena and Carol LaRock of Oswego; his grandchildren, Alishia Dingman of Fulton, Lauren Harris of Florida, Bianca Ahrens Melcher of Dallas, Iowa, Kathleen O’Gorman of Canandaigua, Kayla Rice of Oswego, Madison Cornelius of Oswego and Daniel LaRock Jr. of Oswego; 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Charles E. Rosseter; his daughter, Rhonda Rosseter and by his sister, Georgette Snyder.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2025 with services to follow at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton. Burial will be in the spring at Fairdale Rural Cemetery in Hannibal. Contributions in Charles’ memory may be made to the American Cancer Society online at donate.cancer.org.
