David L. “Chez” Chesbrough

OSWEGO – July 15, 2025, David L. “Chez” Chesbrough, 69, of Oswego passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He was born in Potsdam, New York on June 22, 1956 to Leslie H. and Mary M. Chesbrough and was a graduate of Brushton-Moira High School in 1974.  Dave enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1979. He was employed in the security department at Entergy Nuclear Power Plant in Scriba for 20 years until his retirement in 2011 as a security supervisor.

Dave loved sports cars and owned a few of his own throughout the years. He always looked forward to attending the Syracuse Nationals with his sons every year. Dave enjoyed spending time at his camp at Cross Lake where he was known for playing 50’s and 60’s music for all the neighbors to hear. Dave especially loved his monthly lunch date with his boys.

He is survived by his wife of 5 ½ years, Lynne (St. Onge) Chesbrough; his sons, Justin (Katie Fulkerson) Chesbrough  and Joe (Kylie Cota) Chesbrough both of Watertown; his step-son, Andrew (Lynn) Parkhurst of Waukesha, WI; his step-daughter, Tanya (Sean Gaffney) LeMessurier of Liverpool; his sister, Linda LaTray of Massena; eight step-grandchildren, Jude and Reese Jennings, Lilly Cota, Drew and Frankie Parkhurst, Ava LeMessurier, Willow and Marley Gaffney; his niece, Sarah Lashomb; nephews, Ronald and Scott LaTray. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by a nephew, Jason LaTray.

A calling hour will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2025 with services to follow at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association online at www.heart.org.
