FULTON – April 11, 2024, Douglas F. Caster, 78, of Alpharetta, Georgia formerly of Fulton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 11, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born March 9, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas to Lois A. and Frederick J. Caster and was a graduate of Fulton High School and Kansas State University.

Doug was an integral part of the Fulton community with a keen sense of entrepreneurship. He invested wisely to enhance the downtown area to provide opportunities for local businesses to thrive and prosper. Doug was not one to seek praise for his efforts but his reward was seeing others succeed. He was a commercial real estate developer, as well as, the proud owner of Canalview Travel Services which continues to serve the community today with excellent leadership. Doug was also an extremely skilled private pilot owning his own aircraft and served many years as a pilot for commercial contractors assisting them with their operations. As a member of the Oswego County Airport Committee and the Experimental Aircraft Association he was instrumental in bringing many upgrades to the local airfield. Doug was also very passionate and a strong supporter of the Kiwanis Club and CNY Art Center of Fulton. He enjoyed traveling and had a passion for sailing. He sacrificed much for his family and friends and every stranger he met was soon inevitably a new friend.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Thomas-Caster of Alpharetta, GA; his son Ryan Caster and his sons, Cameron and Carson of Webster, NY; his son John Caster of Oswego; his son Shaun (Lydia) O’Connor and grand dog Henle of Geneseo, NY; his stepson, Adam Thomas and his daughter, Tessa of Alpharetta, GA; his stepson, Joel (Jennifer) Thomas and their children Talan, Gentry, Kason and Nixon of Alpharetta, GA; his stepdaughter, Mandee (Tori) Young and their children Chapel and Phoenix of Alpharetta, GA; his brothers, James (Jan) Caster of Vero Beach, FL and Paul Caster of Honolulu, HI as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his brother, Robert Caster and by his stepdaughter, Meghan McGivney.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Fulton Alliance Church, 1044 NY Route 48, Fulton, NY 13069 with the funeral service to immediately follow. Graveside services will be 9 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024 at Mount Adnah Cemetery in Fulton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Douglas F.
