James M. “Pops” Zarichny

FULTON – September 27, 2026, James M. “Pops” Zarichny, 77, of Fulton passed away Sunday, September 27, 2027. Jim was born in Fulton on April 13, 1949 to Russell and Veronica Tobin Zarichny and was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High school, Class of ’67. Jim was a skilled journeyman machinist and had been employed at Black Clawson, Miller Brewery and retired from D-K Manufacturing in 2011. He also served his country as a member of the Army Reserves.

Jim was always tinkering and fixing things. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved classic cars. He rebuilt the motor in his 1965 Chevy Nova and restored both his 1941 Dodge truck and his 1946 Willy’s Jeep.

Remembered for his great sense of humor, Jim will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Michele (Dings) Zarichny; his son, James R. (Sandra Loveless) Zarichny; his daughter, Kate (Robert) Vayner; his sisters, Sherry (Bill) Dietz of California and Kerry (Jim) Donnelly of Buffalo; his sister-in-law, Priscilla Zarichny of California; his grandchildren, Clarissa Zarichny, Michael Zarichny and Toby Vayner. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother, Russell A. Zarichny in 2003 and his beloved grandson, Trent Berry in 2021.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2026 with services to follow at Brown Funeral Home, 21 Flood Drive in Fulton.
