Ruthmae H. Maloney

FULTON – June 3, 2026, Ruthmae H. Maloney, 90, of Fulton passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. She was born in Fulton on December 18, 1935 and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Ruthmae was a devoted homemaker whose life was dedicated to her family. She was employed by the Fulton City School District where she worked with the lunch program. She also served as a bookkeeper at Palmer Chevrolet and worked alongside her mother in the family business, Sommer Photography.  She was a faithful member of the First United Church of Fulton where she found spiritual guidance. Ruthmae will be remembered for her strong work ethic, commitment to her family and the kindness she extended to those who knew her.

 

Ruthmae is survived by her daughter, Candy (Chauncey) Carvey of Scriba; her grandson, Brandon (Justine) Carvey of Oswego; her granddaughter, Nicole (Matthew Duplessis) Carvey of Oswego; three great grandchildren, Alivianna Carvey, Leighton Carvey and Emma Duplessis; her special cousin, Benjamin “Jim” Holroyd as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and step-father, Sarah (Reynolds) and Jacques “Jack” Sommers; her husband, John S. Maloney and by her brother, Robert E. Halstead.

 

A private graveside service will be held in Mount Adnah Cemetery.
