OSWEGO – Cheri M. Thompson, born March 22, 1949 age 76, a resident of Oswego and Hannibal, passed away July 24, 2025 at home following an illness. Born in Oswego, NY, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Romeo and Doris Germain. Cheri worked as a cook for SUNY Oswego and then as a hairdresser, owning her own salon. She enjoyed retired life and was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Her home, family, children and grandchildren were her world. Cheri had a zest for life, enjoyed being around people, hosting gatherings for family events, quilting, gardening, nature and is now reunited with her beloved dogs Teddy & Jake. She was a member of the Oswego Garden Club and was very interested in genealogy.
Cheri is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alexander Thompson, her son Alexander (Susan) Thompson, her daughter Shelly (Lee) Coryell and grandchildren Julia (Glen) Stevenson, Anna (Benjamin) Cosh, Maverick Coryell, Keegan Thompson, and Aidan Thompson, Her Brother Edward Germain, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cheri was predeceased by her brother Phillip James Germain and sister Gloria Germain.

Calling hours will be held from 4-6PM August 4, 2025 at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home on 112 E 2nd St., Oswego. A short prayer service will follow the calling hours at 6PM.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery 11AM Tuesday August 5th.
