OSWEGO – Patricia E. Battelle, 81 of Oswego, NY passed away Sunday morning at her home surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born November 11, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY to late the John and Alice (Alton) McDermott. She moved with her parents at a young age to Oswego NY where she spent the rest of her life

Patricia attended St. Paul’s Academy, graduated from Bishop Cunningham High School and attended Oswego State.

She met the love of her life, Kevin Battelle of Syracuse.  Together they raised two wonderful boys enjoying camping, boating, and spending time with friends and family.

Pat gave selflessly to her family and community volunteering for the Oswego Jayncees Ladies Auxiliary, supporting, March of Dimes, Meals On Wheels, and Fresh Air Children’s Party.  She led the Alcan Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.  She served as Vice-President of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.  Pat and Kevin enjoyed meeting other volunteers, many of whom became lifelong friends.

She was a Communicant of Christ the Good Shepard Church (St. Paul’s) and St. Joeseph’s, actively volunteered as a fundraiser, taught CCD classes, served as Eucharistic Minister, and joined the Alta Rosary Society

Pat enjoyed staying home to raise her sons but when they were older, she worked at Oswego County Social Services as a case worker for over 30 years. she spent her free time enjoying her adult children and her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 32 years Kevin W. Battelle and her sister Carolyn McDermott.

She is survived by two sons Kevin Battelle of Mooresville, NC, Michael Battelle of Oswego, one granddaughter Mackenzie Battelle, one grandson Ryan Battelle and many cousins and friends who will miss her vibrant personality and caring nature.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 4th at 11 AM at Christ the Good Shepherd Church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-6 PM at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
