OSWEGO – Ruth A Porter, 84 of Sandy Creek passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024 at the Manor at Seneca Hill.
She had worked at Birds Eye Food Corp, Nestle Food Corp, Lolly Mfg. but her passion and dedication of caring for others was utmost in her life.
She loved gardening, creating works of Art, her expertise in knitting enabled her to create many gifts and heirlooms for her family. “Family First” whether it was by blood or being chosen, Ruth had a heart of gold.
She was predeceased by her parents: Harvey and Catherine Brownell Seymour, as well as siblings: Barbara Jean, Harvey J. Seymour, and Catherine Hough. Her husband Richard E. Porter of 33 years.
She is survived by: Donna Reed, Bill (Pat) Seymour, David (Marion) Seymour. She will be forever missed by her children: Diane Archibee (Kip), Richard, Robert (Melissa), Earl, Eric (Deborah) Porter Denise Hall, Deborah (Randall) Phillips; 18 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 1PM-3PM Wednesday February 28, with a Memorial service to follow at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second St. Oswego, NY 13126.
Spring burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery.
